Carl Williams

Born and lived in Tutbury his whole life; he worked as a scaffolder and loved it. When he wasn’t scaffolding he spent all of his time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved nothing more than a pint in his hand and a having a good boogie on the dance floor. Matt Fox

Matt Fox aka Foxy played wheelchair basketball for Watford Lions, Stanmore Terriers, LGS Jets, Hurricane Force and MK Aces and others during his playing days. A true character of the league game and a great friend and understated positive influence to many. Matt loved his rock music, fast cars and a good takeaway! Rest in Power, Matt xxx

Steven Wilkins

Steven lived his life to the fullest despite his disability. A few years ago, Steven and his daughter Jodi skydived to raise money for Charity. He had the best sarcastic, fun-loving and caring personality you could ever meet. He was well and truly loved by all who met him.

Mollie Emsley

Mollie Emsley 16th July 1942 - 6th March 2023 Mollie lovingly cared for her son, Martin, for 25 years after his motorbike accident which left him tetraplegic. She generously wanted to collect money for SIA at her funeral.

Florence Angela Mary Peters

Florence who was always know as Ann was trained as an Occupational Therapist. She brought up her three sons and followed her career at three hospitals finishing at Weston-Super-Mare where she enjoyed home visits. She was very proud of her family's Cornish roots in Mylor Bridge.

Norma Newton

Norma Rutherford Newton 28th April 1941 to 6th May 2023 She was born in Edinburgh and later moved to East Yorkshire. Norma’s passion was her dogs. She bred and showed them and the epitome of her journey was when she was asked to judge at cruft’s. She was proud and stubborn, honest and had a strong sense of justice. Norma is thought of often and very much missed

Graham Dawkins

Graham Frank Dawkins 21st October 1950 to 28th January 2023. Graham was training to be a sports teacher in Weymouth in the early 1970s when he fell from a cliff and broke his back. He was 50 years in a wheelchair and never let it stop him doing anything. He changed his career to Computer programming, loved it and flourished in that environment. Graham was determined not to let being a paraplegic be an obstacle in his life – he was fiercely independent, travelled widely –particularly loved the USA, Florida, Disney and Las Vegas, but also adventured to places such as Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia, Kenya and latterly Cruising was a firm favourite. Sport continued to feature in Graham’s life. Early years he enjoyed wheelchair basketball, 5-a-side football and archery.

Margaret Outten

Margaret was born in Tottenham in 1948. moved to Essex soon after. Had TB as a child and missed some years of schooling. We met in 1966 and married in 1970. Had a daughter and son in the 70's and our first house in 75. Moved to West Country in 79. Margaret was artistic and a prolific knitter. She also enjoyed crochet, needlework, painting and tapestries, which she framed. Unfortunately arthritis later took hold and she could no longer take the strain on her hands and relied on crosswords and jigsaws to keep her mind active.

Nigel Taft

Nigel taft will be missed by many such a caring and strong person always was there for his girls and never failed to put a smile on faces.

Mike Kitson

Mike was one of the friendliest and happiest people you could ever wish to meet. His disability came about just before retirement but that didn’t stop him enjoying his life to the fullest. He spent 7 years as a wheelchair user but always put a positive spin on his circumstances. Mike loved to tell people his story and he loved to help others in their rehab journey too. Sadly Mike passed away in December 2021 but he will always be remembered fondly by his family for his generosity, kindness and love.
